First wine event? Here's the idea
- Walk-around tasting
- Wander between tables, try different wines and chat to the people pouring. Take your time. You don't need to finish every pour, and spitting is normal.
- Drop-in pour
- A few bottles open at the shop counter. Pop in, taste something new and have a chat. A nice little detour from your usual arvo.
- Guided masterclass
- You sit down with a line-up of wines and someone talks you through them. Good for asking the questions you'd feel silly asking elsewhere.
- Winemaker dinner
- A meal with a wine for each course, usually with the winemaker there. Dinner with more to talk about.
- Wine-matched meal
- A set lunch or dinner with a wine poured to go with each course. No winemaker in the room, just a well-matched glass.
- Pop-up bar
- A temporary bar or venue takeover with something different pouring. Check the line-up and see what takes your fancy.
- Producer spotlight
- Get to know one winery through a few of its wines. You might compare vineyards, or the same wine from different years.
- Comparative tasting
- Wines tasted side by side, so the differences are easier to spot. Think one grape from several places, or the same wine made in different years.
- Show medal winners
- Wines awarded medals at a wine show. The judges have their favourites. Here's your chance to find yours.
